Security Guidelines for Containers and Trailers
We recommend and encourage all of our importer clients and trade partners to adhere to the security guidelines as established by CBP. Furthermore, all companies should follow the guidelines at the stuffing point in order to maintain the integrity of the shipping containers and trailers. These guidelines include the “7-Point Inspection Process for Empty Containers. They also include the “17-Point Inspection Process for Trailers/Tractors.” Please contact our office for more information on these guidelines. The use of high-security seals is crucial to maintaining the honesty of the supply chain. Therefore, we encourage all our importer clients and trade partners to meet or exceed the current PAS ISO 17712 standards. Also, we advise our clients to create a procedure to find and report compromised seals to CBP or the appropriate foreign authorities.
We strongly advise our clients to create adequate procedures to track the timely movement of their shipments at all times.
